New track “Friday 13th” features London rapper Octavian.
Fourth instalment of the Song Machine project, "Friday 13 th " is an alternative pop song driven by ethereal synthesizers, laid upon dance rhythms and the mixed rap / singing vocals by Octavian.
The project is a series of singles and music videos released this year by the Gorillz. Song Machine marks the first release with Remi Kabaka Jr. as an official member of the band, it also marks the return of the character Murdoc Niccals, after his absence in The Now Now (2018).
The project first release was "Momentary Bliss", which featured rapper Slowthai and punk rock band Slaves, on January 30. "Désóle" with actress and singer Fatoumata Diawara, on February 27 and "Aries" with Peter Hook (Joy Division / New Order) and singer / drummer Georgia on April 9th.
The video was directed by Jamie Hewlett, the group's co-creator and responsible for the design of the band's animated members.
